As it stands today, I still don't have PC without giving up something that is working for me today

On December 5, 2017, I spoke at the St. Croix county Board of Supervisors monthly board meeting about the lack of accessible transportation in our area, especially since we are as close as we are to the metropolitan area. Many other people spoke also. Many people with disabilities cannot get to their employment, in New Richmond where I live, there is a subsidezed taxi, however, the ridership is overwhelming, the taxi can't keep up with requests, there is not en ough ridership for them to run later hours, etc. There is not enough funding available for the times it does run to serve all who need to or want to utilitize it. I had to give up using the taxi for the reason that I get turned down due to their being too busy.
I"M told that Movin Out does not cover my area.
Although we have a taxi co that operates in our small city, it cannot serve the high demand for service. And right now there is no funding available to help that part of it. so the fact of the matter is, you live in rural area you get rural service, little to none. Lord knows i've been askign lots of questions, but there is little resource here.
An Update, I learned about a newer agency in my part of the country of Wisconsin, and have hired them, and they do not do personal cares, however, I have been so happy with them. They worked to find a match that I would like, and that likes me also. Their workers like to work with the same clients and stay for a long time. This would work for others in my area who do not specifically need personal cares but rather supportive home cares.
The most challenging issue I have been dealing with as an adult with physical disabilities is in regards to the Medicaid program. For two years in a row, I have been dealing with Medicaid's inability to neither approve nor deny my physical therapy services. Previously they covered my orthotics and special diabetic shoes. This year they denied coverage. They never give a good explanation, it's always vague and say almost nothing. I tried contacting the state of WI DHS and after a few months realized I was getting no where. There is no advocate for Medicaid. Why not???
Fortunately, I am not affected by the 40 hour rule. and the agency that works for me is considerate of the 40 hour week.
And thankfully before Kitty Rhoades passed away from pneumonia, she pull the redesign off the table.
I use workers for supportive home care but not personal care. Yes, we ran into the same thing that IRIS (ILIFE) is taking so long to process paperwork.
