Webinar: Building Blocks to Effectively Respond to Court Disability Related Challenges and Difficult Situations
@ Virtual
The Great Lakes ADA Center in collaboration with the ADA National Network invites you to register for the upcoming ADA Audio Conference Webinar titled “Building Blocks to Effectively Respond to Court Disability Related Challenges and Difficult Situations” featuring:
- Julie Ballinger, Affiliate, Southwest ADA Center
Courts face a wide variety of disability related issues and circumstances throughout the judicial system. Understanding when and how the court must effectively comply with the ADA can be complicated. Court personnel can learn to successfully respond to court users, which can include litigants, defendants, jurors, attorneys, witnesses, parents, juveniles, divorcees, etc., when disability related problematic situations and challenges are presented in the courtroom and court programs. By developing and applying specific ADA analytical skills and reasoning, staff can approach these situations with effective assessments and actions to assure program access and equal opportunity. The session will include the unique practice to process various highly difficult disability-related scenarios as well as creating a platform for participants to sort out their own court’s challenges. The trainer will ultimately guide participants through ongoing pathways to create for court users with disabilities, without bias, participation in court programs, including obtaining equitable justice.
Individuals may submit questions for the presenters in advance through the registration process.
This session will have human generated real-time captioning provided.
