The Great Lakes ADA Center in collaboration with the ADA National Network invites you to register for the upcoming ADA Audio Conference Webinar titled " Health Care Access for Patients and Companions that are Blind or Experiencing Vision Loss" featuring Katie Frederick, Community Manager and Accessibility Lead, International Association of Accessibility Professionals and Peter Berg, Project Coordinator of Technical Assistance, Great Lakes ADA Center.
A great deal of print and online information is provided by health care providers to patients and companions. This includes treatment plans, information about follow-up appointments and prescriptions. The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and other laws require health care providers to communicate effectively with patients and companions who are blind or experiencing vision loss. This session will explore ways in which critical health information can be provided in accessible formats. The presenters will also discuss their personal experiences as blind individuals and the best ways health care staff can offer and provide assistance to patients and companions.
