Webinar: Amplifying Access

Webinar: Amplifying Access

Thursday December 3 2026, 1:30 PM - Thursday December 3 2026, 3:00 PM
@ Virtual

Large-area assistive listening continues to evolve, with Auracast broadcast audio adding a Bluetooth-based option for delivering audio directly to listeners. Join us on Thursday, December 3, from 1:30 – 3:00 PM (CT), as we turn up the conversation about assistive listening technologies, their role in effective communication access, and the potential to enhance the listening experience of all patrons. The U.S. Access Board will open the webinar with a discussion of accessibility guidelines and technical standards for assistive listening systems under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Architectural Barriers Act (ABA). The webinar will then explore the capabilities and limitations of established and emerging technologies, practical considerations for their use in public venues, and the needs and experiences of people with hearing loss. Data on listening experiences and the benefits of assistive listening systems for patrons with and without hearing loss will also be shared.

For more information or to register, visit the Great Lakes ADA Center’s webinar webpage. All webinars include video remote interpreting (VRI) and real-time captioning.
