A More Just World: Embracing a Disability Justice Culture​

This workshop will introduce participants to the 10 Principles of Disability Justice as described by Sins Invalid through cultural examples. Sins Invalid is a group led by disabled queer women of color who create this framework for movement building. Participants will be introduced to the founders of the Disability Justice Movement through quotes by Patty Berne, Mia Mingus, and Stacey Park Milbern.

Presented by: Matias Solorzano, a PhD student at UW-Madison studying special education.Matias identifies as an autistic adult. His research focuses on disability identity and the transition to adulthood in employment among autistic adults. He received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Cal State East Bay and a master’s degree in psychology from Cal Poly Humboldt.
