The Great Lakes ADA Center invites you to register for the upcoming Arts-n-Rec session titled “Verbal Description Basics – Applications & Approaches,” featuring:

·                Megan Bent, Artist and, Consultant

·                Heidi Swevens, Consultant, Swevs LLC

Many arts, culture, parks, and recreation organizations feel unprepared to provide verbal description services for people with blindness or low vision. They embrace the spirit of the ADA yet are unsure where to begin. You’re not alone! During this webinar, we’ll explore verbal description applications and approaches. Verbal description uses language to communicate visual information. Creating verbal descriptions is foundational for inclusion in physical and virtual spaces. It is also essential for communication areas. We’ll start with definitions and best practices. Then we will move into real-time examples and practice. Our hope is that the information and experience will be a step in increasing confidence and possibility with verbal description.
