Smart glasses are wearable devices equipped with small speakers positioned near the user’s ears and a camera mounted near the front of the frame. For individuals with vision loss, these devices offer a personalized audio experience and the ability to identify and describe objects and images through the onboard camera. This presentation will explore the advantages and disadvantages of wearable technology and introduce several leading smart glasses currently available. In particular, we will demonstrate the Meta Smart Glasses and Envision Glasses, highlighting the unique benefits and limitations of each.
