AbilityMKE Now! is a monthly show broadcast live on RiverwestRadio.com every fourth Wednesday of each month at 9 PM going until 10 PM. This show has been running for over 2 years now, and we look forward to continuing our amazing 3rd year.

This show began a year and a half ago when radio show host Marty Hagedorn of Youth Rising Up approached Kurt for possible interest to put together and produce an ongoing disability advocacy radio show. Avid Lady Advocate Dawn Green likes this endeavor so much, so added on a weekly show to her schedule. Dawn does as well Disability Rights every Tuesday evening at 7 PM going until 7:30.

This is just the beginning folks. We are spurring a movement to bring people with disabilities predominantly into broadcast media. We are always happy to see other media pursuits by people with disabilities. If you are teased by the possibility of starting your own or want to recruit a team for such a thing like we have, just let us know.

At this time of year, we know that the mainstream pushes and pumps a lot of messages about the holidays. We also know that in contact circles and friend networks and family dynamics that a lot of cheer and social engagement is experienced with a high level of energy and full of presumption. AbilityMKE Now! includes in our message the compassion with folks that have a struggle to embrace holiday cheer and all the flurry of events and activities. Holidays are for sure a tough time of year for a remarkable number of individuals in our community. Know that AbilityMKE Now! celebrates however it is that you make it not only through the holiday times but all of winter as well.
