IndependenceFirst Handcycling Classic p/b BMO Harris Bank
June 16, 17 & 18, 2017 will mark the debut of handcycling at the Tour of America's Dairyland in three venues around Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Each day, Friday thru Sunday, the country's finest will battle for individual prize money and, overall, for the three-race championship.
Race schedule:
All handcycle races will be held during the Local Event between the Pro 1/2 Women and Pro 1/2 Men races, making them the second to last race in each day's schedule.
Friday, June 16 in East Troy (5:10 p.m. start)
Saturday, June 17 in Grafton (6:25 p.m.)
Sunday, June 18 in Waukesha (5:40 p.m.)
Omnium details:
Opportunity to apply for travel stipends, sponsored by BMO Harris Bank, from $50 to $300. To apply, once you have registered to race with us on USA Cycling's website, simply send an email to toadhandcycle@gmail.com with your full name, street address and race category by June 12, 2017.
Travel MilesStipend AwardPrizes: The winner of each omnium category (H1/2, H3/4/5 and women) collects $500 at the conclusion of the omnium on Sunday, June 18th. The balance of the $3,000 total prize purse is awarded across all three omnium categories.
Accessible housing available at Marquette University
Three (3) race classifications within one (1) daily race, consisting of H1/2, H3/4/5 and Women. Racers will accumulate points each day that will count towards their placement in the overall standings per each classification on Sunday, June 18th
Black and white cow print daily winner's jersey awarded after that day's race and overall leader's jersey awarded and to be worn by leader of H1/2 omnium! On Sunday, June 18th, an overall leader's jersey will be awarded to the winner of each of the three omnium competitions.
ToAD trophies awarded to Top 3 finishers in each of the omnium competitions on podium on Sunday, June 18th
