The U.S. Access Board receives many questions about access and signs under the Americans with Disabilities (ADA) and Architectural Barriers Act (ABA). The Board will soon issue a new technical bulletin on signs that clarifies scoping and technical requirements in the ADA and ABA Accessibility Standards for signs, answers common questions, and provides best practice recommendations. In conjunction with this release, the next webinar in the Board's free monthly series will take place February 3 from 1:30 – 3:00 (CT) and will review the new bulletin and requirements for tactile signs, directional and information signs, required accessibility symbols, and pictograms. Presenters will also explain ways to meet various provisions and address common sources of confusion about accessible signage.
Visit AccessibilityOnline for more information or to register. All webinars include video remote interpreting (VRI) and real-time captioning. Questions can be submitted in advance of the session or can be posed during the live webinar. Webinar attendees can earn continuing education credits. The webinar series is hosted by the ADA National Network in cooperation with the Board. Archived copies of previous Board webinars are available on the site.
