The Southwest ADA Center (SWADA) and the ADA National Network regularly receive complaints from service animal users about their treatment and inquiries from businesses regarding the presence of service animals. In order to gain a better understanding of these issues, a survey was disseminated to people with disabilities about their experiences accessing public places with service animals. After the survey we engaged a group of service animal users and representatives from key service industries in deliberative dialogues discussing survey results, identifying barriers, addressing concerns and to propose solutions.
